Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for my first table for the basement and I've been thinking about getting a Brunswick pool table. I play casually – not really into leagues or anything, just enjoy the game.

I've heard that the newer Brunswick pool tables might be made with MDF. Is that a concern for home use?

My budget is around $4,000, including accessories. Any advice or recommendations for other brands I should consider would be really helpful

Brunswick's MDF models are fine for casual play, but if you can, aim for slate, it'll last longer and play truer...you can heck out Olhausen or Diamond too, especially used ones, they're great

Speaking of basements, have you thought about adding a mini fridge or snack setup near your pool table? Nothing beats having cold drinks and a few bites handy during a casual game night

Absolutely. Slate tables are definitely more durable and offer a better playing experience compared to MDF. Brands like Olhausen and Diamond really stand out for their great value, particularly if you're looking at used options
